The last time the Buffalo Bills cut the ribbon on The last time the Buffalo Bills cut the ribbon on a new stadium was in 1973 – a decade before I was born. Yesterday, I was proud to join @govkathyhochul, the @buffalobills organization, my colleagues in government, labor leaders, and community partners to celebrate the completion of the new @highmark_stadium and the beginning of a new era of Bills football in Western New York.

It has been remarkable to witness the largest construction project in our region’s history and to have played a part in bringing it to fruition. I am grateful to the Pegula family, New York State, Erie County, and all the small business owners, laborers, and Bills fans whose dedication made this project possible.

The Bills have a unique ability to bring our community together. Few institutions transcend race, ethnicity, age, gender, and economic status the way the Bills do. That is a tremendous responsibility that must be carried with care and intentionality.

When people look at this stadium, they’ll see more than a football field. They’ll see the workers who built it, the small businesses that grew because of it, and the economic opportunities it created across Western New York. Here’s to the next generation of Bills memories — and a Super Bowl win. 🏈❤️💙

I am proud to partner with Governor Hochul and loc I am proud to partner with Governor Hochul and local healthcare providers on a NYS investment into our most vulnerable neighborhoods. Just steps away from the Tops on Jefferson Avenue, where 10 innocent lives were taken in the racist mass shooting on May 14, we are now investing in a place that will help bring new life into the world.

It was an honor to celebrate the 50th Anniversary It was an honor to celebrate the 50th Anniversary Juneteenth Festival Buffalo as @govkathyhochul signed the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway bill into law. I was proud to join my bill co-sponsor, Assembly Majority Leader @crystal_d_peoplesstokes , in advancing this important legislation to preserve and recognize the legacy of one of our nation’s greatest freedom fighters.

This historic moment was made even more meaningful as we celebrated alongside the visionary founders of Buffalo’s Juneteenth Festival—William Gaiter, Roosevelt Wardlaw, Claudia Sims, Eugene Pierce, Judson Price, Douglas Ruffin Sr., Enid Wright, Gail Wells, and many others whose dedication built a lasting tradition of honoring Black history, culture, and achievement.

As we reflect on Juneteenth’s enduring message of freedom and perseverance, the Harriet Tubman Byway will serve as a lasting reminder of the courage, resilience, and leadership that continue to inspire future generations.

Happy Juneteenth, Buffalo, and congratulations to everyone who helped make this milestone possible.

@jamaaltbailey36 and @senatorserrano for their recognition as well:

“State Sen. April Baskin sponsored, along with Assembly Member Nily Rozic, legislation that would require entertainment and sports venues that have received public funding to implement “fan-friendly concession pricing policies,” although it stalled in committee this session. A Buffalo native, Baskin last summer saw the governor sign her legislation called Desha’s Law, which was named for her late cousin who suffered cardiac arrest playing basketball, that requires school safety plans to include a cardiac emergency response.”

I was proud to pass legislation making Buffalo’s r I was proud to pass legislation making Buffalo’s residential parking permit program in the Fruit Belt neighborhood near the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus permanent. This program helps protect neighborhood parking access while accommodating the needs of employees, patients, and visitors. Most importantly, it helps ensure that the residents who call these neighborhoods home can park in front of or near their homes without competing for limited spaces.
